48 HOURS: "Over the Edge" was Saturday's #1 program in both viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for May 4, 2013. In the 10:00 PM hour, 48 Hours was first in adults 25-54 (1.5/04) - the demographic desired most by those who advertise in news - as well as viewers (5.71m), adults 18-49 (1.1/04) and households (3.9/07).

Saturday's broadcast featured a 48 Hours investigation into the disappearance of Dawn Viens, the wife of a celebrated top chef, David Viens. As Richard Schlesinger reported in "Over the Edge," a year after Dawn vanished, the police investigation closed in on David Viens as a suspect. He then attempted suicide by jumping off a cliff. He survived the leap and the story he told police about what he did to his wife after accidentally killing her shocked even seasoned detectives.

48 HOURS: "Over the Edge" is produced by Paul LaRosa and Sue McHugh. Elena DiFiore and Anthony Venditti are the field producers. Bruce Spiegel, Joan Adelman, Marcus Balsam and David Spungen are the editors. Peter Schweitzer is the senior producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
