The next installment of 3 Roads Communications, Inc's. new series, Moving Images, featuring Lenny Lipton and Michael Zink, is available through Amazon today.
"Cinema has two components that people would agree on," says Lenny Lipton, one of the creators of the RealD 3D projection system and author of 'Puff, the Magic Dragon.' "It's got to project, and it's got to move."
Lipton, one of the featured interviews in episode four of Moving Images, is a pioneer of 3D image technology and author of several books on filmmaking, including the seminal Independent Filmmaking. His groundbreaking work and insight into the world of stereoscopic imagery is responsible for how viewers experience 3D digital cinema today.
Also featured in episode four is Michael Zink, Vice President of Technology at Warner Bros. and Chairman of the Board at the UHD Alliance.
At Warner Bros., Zink is responsible for exploring emerging technologies for creators. He is also responsible for helping provide the best Ultra HD and HDR experience for consumers through the UHD Alliance.
"The line definitely has blurred between TV and film," says Zink. "It always used to be a fairly clear delineation between doing something in a theatre - and you're creating content for a theatre, and then you do another trim pass essentially to create the content for the home."
Moving Images is a new, thought-provoking series that provides an intimate perspective into the professional lives of film and television artists and the skills they have acquired and deployed in their respective fields. The series, featuring interviews with luminaries such as David Lynch, Peter Berg, Andrew Stanton and Gary Rydstrom, gives viewers a front row seat at the creation of visual and aural magic.
Created and Produced by 3 Roads Communications, Inc., the first four episodes of Moving Images are available now on Amazon. You can begin watching by clicking here.
