GALECA, the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association, a body of over 130 entertainment critics and journalists, released its list of nominees for its annual Dorian Awards. The nominees cover 23 categories, both mainstream and LGBTQ-related. The Dorian Awards have been presented since 2010, and previous winners for its Film of the Year have included BOYHOOD, 12 YEARS A SLAVE, and ARGO.

Among this year's nominees for Film of the Year are SPOTLIGHT, the much-praised LGBTQ film CAROL, and MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. Nominees for Actor of the Year include Matt Damon for THE MARTIAN and Tom Hardy for his dual role as both Kray twins in LEGEND. Actress nominees include both Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara for CAROL, and Charlotte Rampling for 45 YEARS. Award nominees in television include HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER and SCREAM QUEENS for Campy TV Show of the Year and THE RACHEL MADDOW SHOW and REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER for TV Current Affairs Show of the Year.

The winner of the year's Timeless Award, presented to a performer whose "exemplary career is marked by character, wisdom, and wit" is Jane Fonda, currently in Netflix' GRACE AND FRANKIE, which itself is nominated for the TV Comedy of the Year award.

The awards nominees are selected by ballot of GALECA members from the past year's films and television shows.

The full list of nominees is presented below. GALECA members will vote on the winners in the coming week and the winners will be announced on January 19. The Dorian Awards are presented at the beginning of March.
