Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are set to write the script for the reboot of "Master of Universe" from Sony Pictures and Mattel Films, according to Variety. The brothers Adam and Aaron Nee are still on board to direct the film.
The is based on Mattel's beloved toy-line that spawned a successful animated TV series as well as a film in 1987 with Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella. The property centers on the warrior He-Man, the last hope of a magical land called Eternia.
The film is being produced by Escape Artists' Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch. The previous draft of the screenplay was written by David S. Goyer, who is also an executive producer.
The movie reunites Sony with The writing pair will reunite with Sony on this film, as they recently finished "Men in Black: International", which will be released in theaters on June 14.
Holloway and Marcum's are also known for "Iron Man" and "Transformers: the Last Night."
