Bel Cantanti Summer Opera Festival is set for June 15, 16 and 17 at The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music's Ward Recital Hall, located at The Catholic University of America, 620 Michigan Ave., N.E., Washington D.C.
A collection of five concerts, the program includes:
Carmen, by G. Bizet, sung in French with English dialogues (with English supertitles), Friday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 17, at 3 p.m.
Le nozze di Figaro, by W.A. Mozart, sung in Italian with English supertitles, Saturday, June 16, at 3 p.m. and Sunday, June 17, at 7:30 p.m.
An evening of arias and opera scenes, Saturday, June 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Joint Bel Cantanti Opera and CUA summer opera festival is a highly professional training opera program for rising professionals. All performances are fully staged, in costume, sung in French with English spoken dialogs and projectEd English supertitles. The performances are accompanied by BCO chamber orchestra. Joel Borrelli Boudreau and Katerina Souvorova, conductors.
