Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime) will play Yum-Yum in The Mikado from March 11-13 with the Eugene Opera. The production's cast also includes Nicholas Isherwood, Joel Andrew Weiss, Jamie LaVerdiere, Brooke Cagno and Anne Allgood.
"Join us as we meet KoKo (the cheap tailor), his lovely young ward YumYum, her beloved NankiPoo, Pooh-Bah (Lord High Everything Else), and all the inhabitants of the mythical 'Japanese' town of Titipu," according to Eugene Opera.
The production will also feature set design by Don Carson, costume design by Mary Mikkelsen and lighting design by Michael Peterson. The chorus master is Dr. John Jantzi, and Andrew Bisantz will conduct the orchestra.
Christiane Noll, who received a Tony nomination for her performance in the revival of Ragtime, made her Broadway debut as Emma Carew in Frank Wildhorn's Jekyll & Hyde. She later joined the Broadway company of It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues and starred in the City Center Encores! production of The New Moon. Noll appeared in the national tours of Urinetown, Grease!, Miss Saigon and City of Angels, and she has recorded several solo albums: "Christiane Noll - A Broadway Love Story" (Varese Sarabande Records), "Live at the Westbank Café," (Car-Jam Records) and "The Ira Gershwin Album" (Fynsworth Alley). The singing actress was also seen in the American premiere of The Witches of Eastwick and the Off-Broadway musicAl Frankenstein.
