Fresh off its World Premiere run at Marlboro College in Vermont, THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER comes to NYC for its New York Premiere. Directed by Brittany Goodwin, with Music and Libretto and produced by Felix Jarrar, opens Friday April 15th, 2016. This is a strictly limited engagement that continues through Saturday April 16th, 2016 in Mary Flagler Cary Hall at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music (450 W 37th street NY, NY 10018).

In this gothic tale, adapted from Edgar Allan Poe's short story of the same name, a boyhood friend (Jonas Budris) visits Roderick Usher (Jeremy Hirsch), and learns of the illness that has plagued and killed almost all the members of Roderick's extended family- the only surviving members of the family are Roderick and his elusive and decrepit twin sister, Lady Madeline (Corrine Byrne). The nature of the relationships between all three characters becomes blurred as the specter of the illness grows and they come face to face with their respective destinies.

The principle cast features: Jonas Budris (Friend), Jeremy Hirsch (Roderick Usher), Corrine Byrne (Lady Madeline). Rounding out the ensemble: James Gerard Russo (doctor), Megan McGill (Maid #1), April Sigler (Maid #2), and Caleb Rohrbacher (Butler).

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER will feature scenic design by Tim Reckel, costume design by Brittany Goodwin, lighting design by James Russo, choreography by Megan McGill.

The chamber ensemble will feature: Brendan Speltz (violin), Jocelin Pan (viola), Andrew Janss (cello), Felix Jarrar (piano & musical director).

Tickets can be bought in front of the hall up to an hour before the performance. You can also reserve tickets beforehand by emailing usheropera@gmail.com with the number of tickets you want, the performance date you want to attend, and the name we should reserve the tickets under. Tickets will not be sold at DiMenna on performance dates before 7pm.
