Single tickets for the 2016 Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour production of Turandot are on sale now at www.opera.org.au.
For the fifth year in a row, this increasingly popular annual Opera Australia event will open on March 24 and run until 24 April, 2016 at the Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquaries Point.
Multi-award winning Chinese director Chen Shi-Zheng will draw on his heritage to reimagine Puccini's last opera set in Imperial China. Brian Castles-Onion will again conduct the harbour spectacular, and Dan Potra is taking on the challenge of an outdoor set and costume design to complement the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour.
International soprano Dragana Radakovic will perform along with Italian tenor Riccardo Massi. Australian-based talent Daria Masiero, Arnold Rawls, Hyeseoung Kwon and Eva Kong return to dazzle on the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour stage.
Turandot is a tale of powerful lust, death-marked love, riddles and an icy heart. The rousing aria Nessun Dorma will be a highlight, as will the stunning set and location.
Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour is made possible due to the continued patronage from Dr Handa and event partners.
