Continuing their work to bring opera to new audiences, Silent Opera?s Giovanni opens on 25th February as part of The Vault Festival 2015.
A digital remastering of Mozart?s classic opera, Giovanni invites you to join him for the evening to witness his climactic, demonic and appalling downfall. An operatic orgy of drinking, lascivious tricks and tense confrontation, the audience are drawn into his most intimate circle to judge him, drink with him and condemn him in his final moments.
Daisy Evans? innovative production not only includes spoken word, pre-recorded thoughts, projection and live sound manipulation, it also features a smartphone app developed for use during the performance.
Once audience members have purchased their tickets they can download the app and join in. They will be able to create a profile in the dating app ?Fickl?, complete with photo, as well as being able to chat with each other and the performers, influencing the outcome of the show. They will receive secret messages, calls, and instructions leading them to take an active role in the performance. Damning Giovanni may be as simple as tapping a "not" instead of a "hot".
