Seattle Opera's 2009/10 Young Artists arrived Monday, October 12, to begin their season, and promptly started rehearsing for their fall touring production of Mozart's Così fan tutte. In November, they will perform in Walla Walla (November 11), Bellingham (November 13), Kirkland (November 15), Seattle (November 20), and Leavenworth (November 22).

Now in its twelfth year, Seattle Opera's Young Artists Program provides career guidance and training for young professional singers, typically between 22 and 32 years old. This intensive 20-week production-based curriculum includes acting training, master classes, auditions, networking, and complete role study. Peter Kazaras is the Artistic Director and Brian Garman is the Music Director of this nationally-recognized program. At the culmination of the program, each Young Artist performs a complete role in a fully-produced opera with orchestra. Young Artists also have the opportunity to perform smaller roles on the Seattle Opera mainstage.

Tickets for Così fan tutte are $20.  Visit seattleopera.org to purchase.  For more details about the fall tour-including dates and locations, as well as artist biographies and information about the Young Artists' spring production of Ariadne auf Naxos, click here.
