LA OPERA's 2013/2014 season launches in grand style with the highly-anticipated opening of Bizet's Carmen! Conducted by Plácido Domingo and starring Patricia Bardon,Brandon Jovanovich, Ildebrando D'Arcangelo and Pretty Yende, Carmen is one of the world's most popular operas. Bizet's immortal score, with one delight after another, is a music lover's hit parade of opera's most intoxicating melodies.

Rounding out the evening's events are our spectacular Spanish market-themed Gala and After Party which benefit the Company's artistic and educational programs.
With final rehearsals in full swing, finishing touches being put on the Music Center Plaza and the buzz throughout the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, to say that there is a high level of excitement in the air would be a bit of an understatement. We've been looking forward to this evening for months and cannot wait for you to share it with us!Carmen opens September 21 for seven performances only. Opening night is sold out, but great seats are still available for most remaining performances.
