The Operation Opera Christmas Spectacular will be presented for one matinee holiday extravaganza at the National Opera Center on December 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. This song packed performance is the only place in town where one can hear a dozen operas, plus a full juke-box of pop tunes and Christmas carols.

The Operation Opera Christmas Spectacular features the works of 56 of the greatest composers and lyricists of all time-everyone from Mozart to Sir Mix-a-Lot. The audience will be introduced to classic opera characters like Figaro, the famed Barber of Seville, and beloved cultural icons like the King of Rock-n-Roll himself, Elvis. This unique production harkens back to the glory days of the American stage when Vaudeville reigned and stars didn't need a mic to project to the back of the house. Which is certainly the case for the star of this one-man show, Adelmo Guidarelli, a baritone who has worked with such operatic legends as, Luciano Pavarotti, Jerome Hines, Giulietta Simionato, Licia Albanese, Sherrill Milnes, and Robert Merrill-and has performed for Pope John Paul II and Queen Elizabeth.

The Operation Opera Christmas Spectacular is conceived, written, and directed by Michael MacKenzie Wills (writer/lyricist of the A Cow Named Cow and The Adventures of Superbunny musicals) and stars opera-singer Adelmo Guidarelli-with pianist Seth Weinstein and opera-enthusiast Miss Opal Laurance who will be filling in for her twin sister Miss Ruby Laurance as Mr. Guidarelli's assistant during this fun-filled holiday version of Operation Opera.
