Nicole Cabell will sing the role of Adina in L'Elisir d'Amore this evening replacing Angela Gheorghiu, who is ill. Cabell will also sing performances on April 18 and 22 as originally scheduled.

Nicole Cabell made her Met debut earlier this season as Pamina in the abridged English-language version of Mozart's The Magic Flute. The young American soprano earned international attention as the 2005 winner of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. Next season, she returns to the Met as Musetta in La Bohème.

Tonight's performance of L'Elisir d'Amore is conducted by Maurizio Benini, and the cast includes Dimitri Pittas as Nemorino, Franco Vassallo as Belcore, and Simone Alaimo as Dulcamara.
