The New York Philharmonic Ensembles, composed of Musicians from the Orchestra, will begin its 2009-10 season on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Merkin Concert Hall featuring Beethoven's Clarinet Trio, Op. 11, Gabaye's Recreation, and Dvorak's String Quintet, Op. 77.

The musicians will be Sharon Yamada and Lisa GiHae Kim on violin; Robert Rinehart on viola; Sumire Kudo and Maria Kitsopoulos on cello; Satoshi Okamoto on bass; PascuAl Martinez Forteza on clarinet; Matthew Muckey on trumpet; Erik Ralske on horn; David Finlayson on trombone; and Jonathan Feldman and guest artist Gema Nieto-Forteza on piano.

Since 1984 the Philharmonic Ensembles series has presented diverse programming of both classical masterpieces and exciting new works. Ensembles concerts are also offered on the Orchestra's international and domestic tours, on separate chamber music tours, and at locations throughout New York City.

The New York Philharmonic Ensembles concerts are funded, in part, by the Zubin Mehta Fund for the Orchestra, an endowment fund created to honor the accomplishments of the Philharmonic's former Music Director, Zubin Mehta. Credit Suisse is the Global Sponsor of the New York Philharmonic.

Programs of the New York Philharmonic are supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Subscription tickets to the six-performance series of New York Philharmonic Ensembles Concerts are $140 ($52 off the individual ticket price). Individual tickets are $32. All are available through the Merkin Concert Hall Box Office. For more information, or to charge tickets, call the Merkin Concert Hall Box Office at 212-501-3330, or online at www.kaufman-center.org
