The University of Houston Moores Opera Center puts a new spin on Bugs Bunny and opera with WHAT'S OPERA DUCK, a cabaret evening featuring arias and selections from opera and musical theatre favorites like MY FAIR LADY, INTO THE WOODS, BRIGADOON, and LA BOHEME and wry hosting from Buck Ross, director and founder of the Moores Opera Center.
The opera center presents WHAT'S OPERA DUCK at pub and music venue Mucky Duck annually. "The point is to hear opera in a more casual setting, says Ross. "It's also a chance for opera singers to let their hair down and do musical theatre material."
WHAT'S OPERA DUCK also launches the opera center's 2017-2018 season, which will feature "The Love for Three Oranges," "L'amico Fritz," "The School for Scandal" and "The Italian Girl in Algiers." Learn more about the season at uh.edu/kgmca//music/opera.
