Elizabeth Caballero will perform the role of Mimì in Puccini's La Bohème for tonight's performance, March 2 at 8:00 p.m., replacing Sonya Yoncheva who is ill.
Cuban American soprano Elizabeth Caballero made her Met debut in 2009 as Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen. Other engagements include Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni at Seattle Opera, Cio-Cio-San in Puccini's Madama Butterfly at Staatsoper Berlin, and Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata with Madison Opera.
Tonight's performance of La Bohème is conducted by Marco Armiliato and includes Michael Fabiano as Rodolfo, Susanna Phillips as Musetta, Lucas Meachem as Marcello, Alexey Lavrov as Schaunard, Matthew Rose as Colline, and Paul Plishka as Benoit/Alcindoro.
Remaining performances are on March 7 and 10.
