Robert McPherson will sing the role of Idreno in Rossini's Semiramide for tonight's performance, February 28 at 7.30pm, replacing Javier Camarena who is ill. The American tenor also replaced Camarena on Saturday February 24, 2018.
Robert McPherson made his Met debut in 2016 as Don Basilio in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. Other engagements include Nadir in Bizet's Les Pêcheurs de Perles at English National Opera, Camille in Lehar's The Merry Widow at Utah Opera, and Lord Percy in Donizetti's Anna Bolena with Welsh National Opera.
Tonight's performance of Semiramide is conducted by Gareth Morrell and includes Angela Meade in the title role, Elizabeth DeShong as Arsace, Ildar Abdrazakov as King Assur and Ryan Speedo Green as the High Priest Oroe.
