Charlottesville Opera's Executive Director, Kevin O'Halloran, and Interim Artistic Director, Steven Jarvi, have announced the special one-night-only benefit performance of Broadway in Charlottesville on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at The Paramount Theater at 7:30 PM.

Broadway in Charlottesville, a magical evening of all-star entertainment, features Broadway's brightest stars in a dazzling affair which includes a delectable dinner at Fleurie and a VIP cocktail reception with the artists for the highest-level ticket buyers. The evening also features a live auction-with tickets to Broadway's hottest hits-including Hamilton.
O'Halloran and Jarvi have teamed up with New York Actor/Producer, Deborah Grausman (Sesame Street, National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof, Producer of the critically-acclaimed Broadway in the Berkshires), to assemble an illustrious cast for this one-night-only benefit performance.
"I am delighted to bring my long-time friend, Deborah Grausman, into the CharlottesvilleOpera family by having her produce this event," says Interim Artistic Director, Steven Jarvi. "She has assembled an extraordinary array of talent and I want to thank all the artists for donating their time and talent to support our company. This not-to-be-missed event is going to be unlike anything Charlottesville Opera has ever seen or heard."
Executive Director Kevin O'Halloran adds, "This is an important year-end fundraiser for Charlottesville Opera. It's also an exciting preview of our upcoming summer musical, Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods."
The starry line-up of Broadway performers includes: Mark Aldrich (Newsies, Ragtime), Lauren Molina (Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd), Aaron Ramey (Bridges of Madison County, Young Frankenstein, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera, Bedbugs!!!), and Eric Van Tielen (Les Misérables, A Tale of Two Cities).
The cast also features Charlottesville Opera favorite Sharin Apostolou (M. Fair Lady, South Pacific, Oklahoma!), Lauren Jelencovich (Yanni's Featured Vocalist, A Little Night Music at Opera Theatre of St. Louis) and Deborah Grausman (Sesame Street, National Tour Fiddler on the Roof). The singers will be accompanied by Music Director Aurelien Eulert whose Charlottesville Opera credits include Rigoletto and Oklahoma!.
"I am thrilled to be working with Kevin, Steve, and this vastly talented group of artists to raise much-needed funds for Charlottesville Opera," says Actor/Producer Deborah Grausman. "It's an honor to rally my colleagues in support of this company." She adds,"Performing in Charlottesville will be a real treat, one that the entire cast is looking forward to, and we hope you will join us for what promises to be a truly exciting evening!"
