Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera (LAMet), a local community Opera Company which stages grand opera in intimate settings and at prices almost anyone can afford will present Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece, DON CARLO on four dates: Tonight, February 21st and February 22nd, 28th and on March 1, 2015. The performances take place at All Souls Chapel at Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Los Angeles and at St. Augustine-By-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Santa Monica.
Company Co-Founder and Artistic Director Linda Jackson has dedicated LAMet's new season to the works of Giuseppe Verdi, in celebration of his 200th birthday. DON CARLO marks LAMet's second Verdi offering this year, with AIDA to follow in June 2015.
DON CARLO is set in the Spanish Inquisition-inflamed 17th Century, and spins a passionate tale of love, duty, revenge, death, and salvation, as only the master Verdi could imagine.
