The Park Avenue Armory presents Holocaust Opera "The Passenger", written by Mieczyslaw Weinberg, which will be hitting the Lincoln Center Festival this summer, according to The New York Times. Weinberg wrote the opera 1968, but a fully staged production was not presented until 2010, 16 years after his death.

"The exciting thing for me is this discovery of 20th-century and 21st-century works that would not otherwise be heard," said festival director, Nigel Redden, in an interview. Mr. Redden believes "The Passenger" will fit in with the festival's tradition of bringing rarely performed works to its audience.

The American premier of "The Passenger" will take place in January at the Houston Grand Opera, followed by its New York premiere in July, where it will be performed by the Houston Grand Opera and conducted by Patrick Summers.
