Hillhouse Opera Company officially launched its new website earlier this month. Designed by marketing consultant Harmony Wheeler, the website features a brighter color palette and stronger brand, as well as a new logo. The website has been in development since late July. In addition to being more organized than HOC's previous site, the new site includes links to Hillhouse Opera Company's regularly updated Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/HillhouseOpera) and e-newsletter (www.hocnews.blogspot.com).
Changes in leadership are also in store. Victoria Gardner will step down from her General Manager position at Hillhouse Opera Company this month to prepare for her upcoming marriage. Sarah Kennedy, who has been involved with HOC on many levels, has been named Interim General Manager, while Gardner will continue to have input as founder and President of HOC.
"I look forward to the discovery of this experience of delight and inspiration in the community," Kennedy said.
Kennedy has already been helping direct HOC's upcoming, one-night-only performance of Puccini's La Boheme, which HOC will present November 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the High Lane Club in North Haven, Connecticut. A December 16, 2011 performance is also in the works.
"I am inspired to be collaborating on La Boheme with music director Perry Price and this very gifted cast of vocalists and musicians," Kennedy said. "Each rehearsal is filled with such team work and enthusiasm. The beauty and quality of the artists' performances truly bring joy to all who experience them."
