Central City Opera invites you to experience the magic of the holiday season with Gian Carlo Menotti's family-friendly opera, "Amahl and the Night Visitors." This heartwarming production will grace the stage at the Central Presbyterian Church in Denver for four captivating performances on December 23 and 24, combining enchanting storytelling, profound music, and a talented ensemble to bring the Christmas tale to life. Tickets are on sale now and start at just $12 for kids.

Centered on themes of kindness, generosity, community, and hope, “Amahl and the Night Visitors” tells the story of a shepherd boy who has a propensity to tell tall tales and his mother. Amahl's most recent story is about a star that moves across the sky like a chariot on fire. When three splendid strangers knock on the door and ask to rest in their tiny home, Amahl is thrilled and fascinated. When the visitors describe the miraculous child they are seeking, both Amahl and his mother are moved to give reverence to the child as well. Their humble faith conjures a miracle.

Central City Opera, known for its commitment to excellence, is elated to breathe new life into this classic. Under the directorial vision of Daniela Guzmán- Égüez and the musical guidance of Brandon Eldredge and Steven Aguilo-Arbues, audiences can anticipate an arresting production. The performance boasts a remarkable cast, including Brian Ericson as Amahl and Jennifer DeDominici as his mother. Original costumes are being designed by Mia Chase, a Senior in Costume Design at Denver School of the Arts. A unique aspect of this performance is its setting – the Central Presbyterian Church in Denver. The historic and grand architecture of the church amplifies the ambiance, transporting audiences to the heart of the story.
