Acclaimed director Christopher Alden returns to direct The Marriage of Figaro, which marks his second Mozart/Da Ponte collaboration with the LA Phil. Alden directed Don Giovanni in May 2012. Lighting designer Aaron Black joins The Marriage of Figaro creative team; this is his first opera project at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Three of the greatest operas ever written were collaborations between librettist Lorenzo da Ponte and composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte. Now in its second year, the LA Phil's Mozart/Da Ponte project presents the trilogy in collaboration with influential architects of our time and leading fashion designers, to create a unique and distinctive visual setting for each of these timeless masterpieces. Each fully staged opera production is a Walt Disney Concert Hall first. The trilogy began with Don Giovanni in May 2012 (Frank Gehry, architect/Rodarte, costume design), and concludes with Così fan tutte (creative team to be announced) in May 2014.

The Marriage of Figaro features:
Los Angeles Philharmonic
Gustavo Dudamel, conductor

Azzedine Alaia, costume design
Christopher Alden, director
