This February, the Tony Award winning musical Into the Woods, by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, leaps off the big screen and back onto the stage! Center Stage Opera presents a thrilling LIVE production of this wry tale of wishing gone awry, set in a magical new setting by director Dylan F. Thomas. This production will take place at The Madrid Theatre in Canoga Park as part of our 10th Season!

The production features an outstanding cast of Southern California's brightest musical theater stars...and they can't wait to show you what they've got! Conductor and guest Music Director Jake Anthony will lead The Center Stage Opera Orchestra through the Sondheim score that spans the entire range of emotions.

"Into The Woods weaves together fairy-tale figures like Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf, Rapunzel and the witch, and more than one handsome prince. Two new characters, a baker and his wife who've been cursed with barrenness, help to tie everything together. "Into The Woods is definitely not a kids' show," says director Thomas. "It plays with our idea of fairy tales - you better watch what you ask for, and you never get what you want. We're always wanting something that's bigger and better, and this show highlights that."

The movie version was a big hit on the big screen, but there's just no substitute for the original Broadway show, performed live as Stephen Sondheim wrote it for the stage. So buy your tickets now before they sell out or you'll be left "wishing"!
