Arianna Zukerman, Westminster Williamson Voices and More Set for NYC Premiere of ANNELIES at Alice Tully Hall Tonight

Annelies, James Whitbourn's internationally acclaimed choral setting of The Diary of Anne Frank receives its New York City premiere at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts tonight, April 26, 2014 by an internationally and nationally renowned ensemble of artists: soprano Arianna Zukerman, clarinetist Bharat Chandra, The Lincoln Trio, and The Westminster Williamson Voices led by choir conductor James Jordan.

On April 24, two days prior to the concert, the composer, conductor and soprano soloist participate in a special cross town event at the Lowenstein Auditorium, Temple Emanu-El, featuring a moderated discussion about the GRAMMY nominated work and including a Q&A with the audience.

A limited number of free tickets are available to Holocaust survivors and World War II veterans (call 480-269-7652).

Annelies was commissioned by the Jewish Music Institute of London, and premiered at a royal commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Holocaust Remembrance Day in 2005. Mr. Whitbourn, with his librettist, Melanie Challenger, was given unique access to the Anne Frank Foundation and support from the surviving family to use the Diary.

Selections of the GRAMMY nominated (Best Choral Performance) critically acclaimed 2013 Naxos recording of Annelies, which features the performers in the April 26, 2014 Lincoln Center concert, will also be played as part of the April 24 event.
