PATRICE COVINGTON

BIO:
B Music is elated to introduce the highly anticipated release of Patrice Covingtons debut album titled Life Feels Good Right Now for worldwide distribution in 2012. Like a true R&B and Soul singer, in the debut album Life Feels Good Right Now, Patrice draws her style and music from real life experiences. There is an honesty that comes through her pure and melodic voice. Whether it's about her own insecurities or her pure joy, Patrice wants to make listeners feel as she does. She wants people to get lost in her lyrics or simply make you so happy you just have to clap your hands and stomp your feet. In short, Patrice wants every listener to get lost in her universe, which in her mind is good. Simply put, its feel good music! Life Feels Good Right Now will showcase music that makes you smile, forget your issues and perhaps make you feel better than your problems. Whether you are hustling and bustling through the busy city streets, riding the subway, or cruising on the highway, this music just makes you feel... well... good! This debut album is sure to be a bar-setting one for Patrice. It's only the beginning for this life-long musical theater actress. With talent so pure and raw, Patrice is sure to make her signature stamp in the music industry. When you get to know Patrice you will see that she lives by her dream-catching motto: Don't be a star, be a galaxy! Patrice breaks down this phrase by saying, "It means that all between-ness is maximized. When you do the most and the best you can with a little bit, it can become bigger than you ever even imagined!" "Galaxy", as her friends and family jokingly call her, has been seen nationwide belting tunes with the super stars like Ruben Studdard. Patrice and Ruben along with other American Idol contestants toured the United States with the Broadway National tour of the Tony award-winning show Ain't Misbehavin'. This talented cast was nominated for a Grammy for their stellar Broadway cast recording of Aint Misbehavin'. In 2012 Patrice will be making her on camera debut in the ever growing and popular web-series 12 Steps to Recovery. Listen closely, as you will also hear some of her original music from her debut album within the series. Patrice is proud to hail from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia where many of todays musical greats were birthed and raised. As many artists in the R&B and Soul music industry do, Patrice also debuted as a singer in church and continued to sing there for most of her childhood. Her father was the Minister of Music and both sides of her family have the God given gift of song. Patrice also attributes much of her vocal and theatre training to the education she received at the Virginia Governors School for the Performing Arts, a performing arts high school. She booked her first professional performing gig was when she was 17 aboard the Spirit of Norfolk, a local entertainment cruise boat. Shortly after, she was given the opportunity, to perform at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, as a featured singer in the Starlight Orchestra. It was there that her love for swing, jazz, and the music of the legends Billie Holliday and Etta James sprouted. These new influential buds of love joined forces with Patrices favorite singer of all time Whitney Houston. These first jobs cultured what has now blossomed into her career. Patrice has had the opportunity to grace stages all across the world including the Bahamas and Japan. For just short of a year and half, Patrice toured the country as she set stages ablaze portraying the legendary role of "Effie White" in Broadway's Dreamgirls, the same role made tremendously famous by Jennifer Holliday and Jennifer Hudson. In the fall of 2011, she reprised her role in Ain't Misbehavin' in a European tour of the hit Broadway show. After being encouraged by the R&B music sensations she has had the pleasure of working with, Patrice is releasing her first ever full-length record. Fans worldwide have enjoyed her self-titled EP, which debuted with successful sales in Europe. Her recordings are released and distributed by B Music, an independent record label owned by Patrice and her husband, Indie Soul singer, songwriter, producer, and musician Elijah Bland. Summed up, Life Feels Good Right Now will offer a message of empowerment, inspiration, sex appeal and self-esteem for all women, and encouragement for all. This powerful theme is set to an eclectic but consistent blend of sound. On her debut album, listeners will vibe to everything from classic R&B (Release), country juke joint (It's Alright, It's Okay), to Motown (I Wanna Be). Patrice released an EP of her album in October 2011 and is set to release her full-length album in the Spring of 2012.
