Described as "...a working-class hero of stadium-sized potential", Marc Copely has been sowing new seeds as a guitarist, songwriter, and producer since the age of 19. The Worcester, MA born talent was shaped and bred on the blues, launching his professional career by performing with legends like B.B. King, James Montgomery, and James Cotton. His energetic and soulful performances in multiple genres have been commanding attention ever since, electrifying audiences across the globe. In 2001, he was signed to RCA Records and released his critically acclaimed solo record Limited Lifetime Guarantee. His first single received steady radio play and quickly boosted him into the national spotlight, prompting appearances on VH1, MTV2, and features in publications from Billboard to GQ Magazine. He toured as a solo artist supporting Coldplay, Our Lady Peace, Vanessa Carlton, and many others. ? Marc’s long anticipated second solo effort, Harp & Plow, released in 2009 on Valcope Recording/United for Opportunity. The roots rock album showcases Marc’s masterful guitar work while drawing from a wealth of influences, pondering personal transformation, the dualities of strengths and fears, and the embracing of deep emotions finally ready to be released. Harp & Plow was pre-nominated for a Grammy Award© in the Best Americana Album category, and chosen as an Editors' Pick in the June, 2010 Issue of Guitar Player Magazine. ? Currently, Marc is signed to Universal/Decca UK as a member of the country/rock band, High South. Their highly anticipated debut album will be released throughout Europe in early 2013. ? Marc has also forged a formidable career as a songwriter and producer. His most recent co-write "Midnight Run", was recorded by Willie Nelson and can be heard in the Weinstein Company film Lawless, both in the cafe scene and the end credits. Other notable co-writes include: "Breathe Into You" with Carole King, "Something Beautiful" with Tracy Bonham and Greg Wells, and “Little White Lies” which will be featured in the recent film Butter, starring Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman. ? His songs have been heard on numerous TV shows, including Late Night with David Letterman, Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Brothers and Sisters, Grey's Anatomy, Pawn Stars, Cajun Pawn Stars, American Restoration, NY Ink, Psychic Kids, and others. ? Marc has toured in recent years as guitarist with Roseanne Cash, Billy Squier, and opened for Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and The Eagles on separate tours with JD & The Straight Shot, joined by Keith Urban and the Dixie Chicks. He has shared the stage and studio in diverse collaborations with artists like Bono and The Edge, Linda Eder, Indian percussionist/producer Karsh Kale, R&B sensation Maiysha, The East Village Opera Company and Handel's Messiah Rocks with the Boston Pops Orchestra, under the direction of Keith Lockhart. He performed on Dancing With The Stars and the American Music Awards with pop icon Enrique Iglesias in 2011. ? As a session guitarist, Marc can be heard on a myriad of albums, including French sensations Chimene Badi (Laisse les dire, Universal France), Juliette Katz (Tout va de travers, Universal AZ), and Rachid Taha (Bonjour, Wrasse Records), R&B/soul sensation Ryan Shaw, and rap legend DMC and many others. In April, 2011, Marc co-produced and performed on the Righteous Brothers song “Unchained Melody” for Constantine Maroulis (American Idol, Rock of Ages) for live performance on Season 10 of American Idol. Marc can be prominently seen in the blockbuster film New Year’s Eve, playing alongside Jon Bon Jovi in the fictitious rock band Jensen.
