The Irish (but based in London) whenyoung will release their debut EP, Given Up on November 9 via Virgin Records.
To date, whenyoung have shared the title track and the single "Heaven on Earth" - both of which encapsulate their driving, Pixies-esque bassline and chiming guitars -- the perfect mix of gritty alt-rock edge with shimmering choruses. The band first burst onto the scene with their take of the Cranberries classic "Dreams" which is also found on the EP.
whenyoung are Aoife Power (Vocals/ Bass), Niall Burns (Guitar), Andrew Flood(Drums). Their story started in their hometown of Limerick, Ireland when the band were teenagers. After bonding over cheap vodka and the sound of The Velvet Underground, they began playing music together. They eventually found their way to London and in 2017 became whenyoung.
2018 has seen whenyoung perform in Dublin as part of Shane Mcgowan's 60th birthday celebration alongside the likes Nick Cave and Sinead O'Connor. whenyoung also supported the likes of Dream Wife, Declan McKenna, The Vaccines and Peace. Having already played storming sets at this year's Great Escape, Latitude, Kendal Calling and Bestival, the band are touring Europe and the UK this fall, playing headline shows and supporting both The Vaccines and Blossoms on their upcoming tours.
October - European tour with the Vaccines
December -- UK tour with Blossoms
