SXSW will see two of Canada and electronic music's most visionary and influential artists "in conversation," capping off their convergence-focused music programming on Tuesday, March 12 at 5:00 pm at the Austin Convention Richie Hawtin will engage on-stage with Deadmau5 one of the most globally-renowned electronic artists period. Together, they are considered the most innovative in terms of music's interaction with technology. Deadmau5 & Richie Hawtin: Talk. Techno. Technology. will see both artists discuss their careers with a huge focus on innovations in technology and the power of Social media.

Joel Zimmerman, more commonly known as Deadmau5 (pronounced 'dead mouse'), is one of the world's most respected electronic music producers of modern times. Enjoying international chart success with his singles "Professional Griefers," "Sofi Needs A Ladder," "Ghosts 'n' Stuff" and "I Remember," he has also released four critically acclaimed albums for Ultra Music: >album title goes here<, 4×4=12, For Lack Of A Better Name and Random Album Title. The multiple JUNO Award-winning and Grammy-nominated artist performed at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards as part of its first ever telecast performance highlighting electronic music. His ability to push the boundaries of his talent grows at an equal rate to his fan base, which counts over 7 million on his Facebook page. A major touring act, he has headlined Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Sonar, Virgin Mobile FreeFest and Electric Daisy Carnival, and sold out Rogers Centre in Toronto and PETCO Park in San Diego, as well as multiple consecutive nights at legendary venues like the Roseland Ballroom in NYC and The Palladium in Los Angeles. RICHIE HAWTIN is a sound and technology adventurer who has been named the "World's Best DJ" in the most credible electronic music polls, and is widely acknowledged as being the most technologically-advanced artist in electronic music. He has invested in, endorsed and helped develop some of the most forward-thinking products in the electronic music space including Native Instrument's pioneering Traktor software, number one dance music digital retailer Beatport, his Liine APP development company and Allen & Heath's limited edition custom CTRL:92 DJ mixers-the first ever to be fully Midi-enabled, which both he and his father helped to conceptualize and design. In 2010 Richie Hawtin relaunched his alter-ego Plastikman and launch the PLASTIKMAN LIVE world tour. The show was voted the best live act of 2010 by Resident Advisor readers and also was included in U.K. tastemaker magazine MixMag's best live dance act shortlist.
