Bergen Performing Arts Center located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood New Jersey Presents Black Sun, a collaboration between the band Harriet Tubman and vocalist Cassandra Wilson. This event takes place on Friday, March 14th 2014 at 8PM. Be sure to reserve tickets at www.ticketmaster.com or bergenPAC's Box Office at 201.227.1030.

Grammy award winner Cassandra Wilson and jazz band Harriet Tubman will hit the stage together for a special night. Harriet Tubman consists of Brandon Ross, Melvin Gibbs and JT Lewis and was named after legendary anti-slavery resistance personality Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman's music sounds both familiar and fresh, allowing the audience to experience the music free from distracting labels of style or genre. Cassandra Wilson's magical voice and band's un?que talents will turn this night into an unforgettable experience.

Black Sun bridges the worlds of jazz, pop, and rock, as it melds the cultures of Ms. Wilson's native Mississippi and Tubman's native New York while connecting them back to Africa.. The result, according to Jazz Journal, is "a beguiling, contemporary take on black roots music in all its forms."
