Zak Waters' Debut Album LIP SERVICE Now on Spotify

Triple threat ZAK WATERS always leaves a mark. Unlike his contemporaries, the Los Angeles singer, songwriter and producer can do it all from constructing a track to writing the lyrics to performing it live with his band or in a DJ set. His impact is about to expand immensely with the release of his full-length debut album, LIP SERVICE-available exclusively now via a unique deal with Spotify.

On LIP SERVICE, shimmying between soulful funk savoir faire and fresh dance floor-ready pop, he cultivates animmediately seductive, soaring, and shimmering style of his own. WATERS puts it best though, "My music is definitely meant to make people dance. I like to think of it as disco at its core. There are elements of EDM and R&B at the same time. You could call it neo-funk-pop. I'll take that as mine."

The album's first single "Penelope," a catchy pop track WATERS penned about a young man's longing for his former babysitter, debuted in late August. Some critical quotes about the track follow below. Elsewhere there's soul meets dreamy indie pop tracks "Dear John" featuring Audra Mae, a smart rumination on breaking up, "Sleeping In My T-shirt" and "Over You," which examines the some darker moments post-relationship. WATERS taps into real tangible emotion, extendingbeyond the feel good pop. LIP SERVICE also includes previously released cuts "Runnin Around" and "Skinny Dipping In The Deep End."

In conjunction with the album release, ZAK WATERS is in the midst of his month-long free residency at The Satellite in Los Angeles where he has been performing every Monday night with his full band to packed houses. Monday, September 23 and Monday, September 30 shows still remain.
