Young The Giant Releases New Track SIMPLIFY + Announces Tour Dates Image

Today, Los Angeles-based indie rockers Young the Giant share the new track "Simplify," the band's first new music since the release of 2016's critically acclaimed Home of the Strange. "Simplify" is available now via Elektra Records at all music retailers and streaming services. Download/stream at https://lnk.to/simplify.

"Simplify," produced by Alex Salibian (Harry Styles), comes at a time when there's so many points of conflict and scrutiny around us every day, yet Young the Giant have found some space to breathe with this song, focusing on the unequivocal power of some loving eye contact.

"Everything in modern life is complicated," explains lead singer Sameer Gadhia. "Each decision divides into possible alternatives, reflections multiplying within themselves endlessly, like a room of a thousand mirrors. We construct images of how life should be lived: how to act, dress, tweet, and vote, and often times it is easy to lose your true self to the images we create for all to see. But love is simple, and to love someone is to love all of humanity. It is the closest thing to truth, and even though love can be compromising, painful, and exhausting, we can only see our truest selves in the eyes of another. This is the essence of "Simplify"."

Along with the track release, Young the Giant announce new headline tour dates for the fall with LIGHTS as the main support. Fan pre-sale begins Monday, June 18. Public on-sale starts Friday, June 22. For more tour info and to purchase tickets, please visityoungthegiant.com/tour.

Most recently, Gadhia performed as a special guest for the annual SuperJam at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival last weekend. For the Tom Petty-themed tribute event coordinated by members of Wilco and My Morning Jacket, he covered the late rockstar's classic "Free Fallin'."

Since the band's 2010 inception, Young the Giant has made a name for itself in rock as the "thinking man's band," winning over fans, radio, and press with their incendiary live shows, strong musicianship, and poignant lyrics. The band's 2010 self-titled debut, which reached No. 6 on the Rock and Alternative album charts, featured the RIAA Gold-certified hits, "Cough Syrup" and "My Body," which peaked at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively on Alternative Radio. The band's sophomore release 2014's Mind Over Matter hit No. 7 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the hits, "It's About Time," which reached No. 2 on the Alternative Radio chart and the title track, which hit No. 15. The most recent album, 2016's Home of the Strange, honed in on the modern American immigrant story. It's especially relevant to the quintet as they're from different ethnic backgrounds and most are immigrants or first-generation Americans. Gadhia had an in-depth conversation with NPR's Ailsa Chang on the topic (see here). The album features hits "Amerika," "Something to Believe In," and "Silvertongue."

Young the Giant is composed of Sameer Gadhia (vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar/vocals), Payam Doostzadeh (bass), and Francois Comtois (drums/vocals). They've sold out performances at historic venues such as Radio City Music Hall, The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, and more.
