Yonder Mountain String Band Announce Wide Array Of Fall Tour Dates And Return of Allie Kral Image

Widely acclaimed-and the incessantly touring-bluegrass outfit YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND have announced an array of headlining and festival dates for the second half of 2018. The band is also excited to welcome back working mom Allie Kral to the road, as she enjoyed some time off with the birth of her first child in May.

Highlights include festivals (Northwest String Summit, FreshGrass), headlining dates along the East Coast and a special August 4 Red Rocks with Infamous Stringdusters, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades and Earls of Leicester. In a live review from a March show, Live For Live Music said, "By and large, the tenor of the show was consistent throughout. Whether whipping through the 'Winds of Wyoming,' loving a tragedy on 'Sidewalk Stars,' or closing the main set with 'Casualty,' Yonder hewed to its tried-and-true formula of bluegrass yarns laced with fast-paced showcases for each of the group's splendid instrumentalists. Not that the show was at all a one-note affair. The band took a brief turn toward reggae with 'Groovin' Away' and stitched in its fair share of covers, from The Edgar Winter Group's 'Frankenstein' to Blind Melon's 'No Rain' and Black Sabbath's 'Crazy Train' for the encore."

YMSB-Adam Aijala, Dave Johnston, Ben Kaufmann, Jacob Joliff and Kral-released their latest album Love. Ain't Love earlier this year, and also celebrated their 2500thshow together. In April, they also released Hines' Finds, a collection of their soundman's favorite live tracks from their March dates. They formed in 1998 and have released 11 studio and live albums since, including three #1 Bluegrass Albums chart-toppers. Rolling Stone said Love. Ain't Love is "an album rooted in modern bluegrass and punctuated by genre-jumping excursions into world music, reggae and all points in between" and premiered the video for the album's first single, "Bad Taste," here.
