Combining the upbeat grooves of a world beat concert with the power of traditional devotional chanting, or kirtan, the GuruGanesha Band brings an entirely fresh and diverse sound to the sacred music genre. Their music draws upon many sources-raga, gospel, rock, folk, even a touch of the blues. In performance, these myriad musical tributaries merge in a river of sound that alternatively brings audiences to their feet in ecstatic dance and transports them inward, into a quieter, more meditative and soothing space. Much of the band's material is drawn from GuruGanesha's 2011 album Kundalini Surjhee, but they have also begun to incorporate some brand new compositions into their live performances.

The group is led by world devotional music pioneer GuruGanesha Singh, renowned for his work with singers Snatam Kaur, Tina Malia and Nirinjan Kaur, and widely respected as the founder of Spirit Voyage records. Grounding the GuruGanesha Band's joyous beat are percussionist prodigy Tripp Dudley, accomplished bassist Gurusangat Singh, and rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist Sat Kartar Singh. The GuruGanesha Bands's rainbow tapestry of sonic hues is magnificently enriched by multi-instrumentalist Hans Christian, who performs on cello, sarangi, sitara and nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle). And then there's Paloma Devi, the GuruGanesha Band's divinely enchanting singer. She brings her entire life and soul to every note-her Cuban family background, her deep grounding in Kundalini yoga, her world travels, her ardent studies in everything from Sanskrit to flamenco dance.

The GuruGanesha Band is set to embark on their East Coast Tour at the Boston Yoga and Chant Fest on October 20th. They'll next move on to Auburn, NY; Arlington, VA; Asheville, NC; and Davie, FL.
