Live Nation Entertainment, through their ticketing siteTicketmaster.com, will help raise funds for Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) for six weeks, which began on April 29th. MWSF assists in providing 100% mortgage-free homes to combat wounded American Heroes and their families, as well as Gold Star Surviving Spouses. In addition to the home, each recipient receives three years of comprehensive family and financial mentoring. Since 2010, MWSF has donated over 300 homes in 35 states, with the goal of 300 additional homes in 2013. These homes are in safe neighborhoods, quality school districts and are move-in ready, including modifications to accommodate for injuries.
Live Nation will be promoting MWSF's "Homes4WoundedHeroes" from April 29 to June 2, 2013, through a contribution campaign on www.Ticketmaster.com. During this time period, fans can select to support our veterans through MWSF by adding a $5.00 contribution to their ticket purchase or making a donation for their desired amount.
"With support from partners, like Live Nation, MWSF can help America's heroes and their families make a fresh start in homes of their own," said Lt. Gen. Leroy Sisco USA (Ret.), MWSF chief executive officer. "MWSF provides homes and a comprehensive homeowner education and mentoring program to help the transition to civilian life. We're proud to partner with Live Nation to raise funds to directly support this program."
"Veterans who have sustained severe injuries while serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan deserve more than just our thanks, which is why we are so honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with MWSF," said Scott Powell, executive vice president of Live Nation Entertainment.
To help raise awareness for the Home4WoundedHeroes campaign, MWSF hosted a kick-off event in conjunction with one of their long time partners, Chase Bank, to honor a highly decorated, combat wounded veteran from West Virginia.
