Wolf Trap Foundation Announces First Performances of Summer 2018 at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts has announced the first performances of Summer 2018 at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17; Wolf Trap members (donors of $75 and up) have access to presales and are beginning to purchase tickets now.

Additional shows to be announced March 8

• Chart-topping artists across genres take the stage this summer - including Roger Daltrey performing The Who's Tommy, Reba McEntire, Queen Latifah and Common, Charlie Puth, and The Avett Brothers
• Returning to Wolf Trap: Barry Manilow, Tony Bennett, Barenaked Ladies, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Juanes, Yanni, Bryan Adams, and Ian Anderson presents Jethro Tull in a 50th Anniversary Tour
• Country and Americana artists include John Prine, Jake Owen on his Good Company Tour, Alison Krauss with David Crosby and Friends, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and the legendary Alan Jackson
• See your favorites from the radio live on stage with Live From Here with Chris Thile and NPR's quiz show Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!
• Several artists make their Wolf Trap debuts - including Indie bands Fitz and the Tantrums and X Ambassadors, rock band Dr. Dog on its Critical Equation Tour, R&B artist Charlie Wilson, alternative rock group The Revivalists, and kid-friendly pop group KIDZ BOP
• National Symphony Orchestra's summer residency to feature Bernstein at 100 - A Celebration, The Best of Wagner's Ring with a roster of international Wagnerians and Wolf Trap Opera alumni, and film scores come to life with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - In Concert and Jaws in Concert
• Musicals and dance include the Wolf Trap debut of The Washington Ballet with Giselle, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Motown The Musical and a Sound of Music Sing-A-Long
• Wolf Trap Opera's season features an expanded summer schedule, including Verdi's Rigoletto at the Filene Center, new productions of Mozart's Idomeneo and Gounod's Roméo et Juliette at The Barns, and UNTRAPPED, an initiative that brings opera and classical performances to new spaces and unexpected places

Special promotion on February 17 only: $10 lawn tickets and $20 rear orchestra tickets for select National Symphony Orchestra performances, plus The Washington Ballet, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo and more As America's only national park for the performing arts, Wolf Trap is deeply committed to diversity in programming, access points for music lovers of all kinds, and affordability. The 16-week summer season at the 7,028-seat Filene Center is made possible through a public-private partnership between the nonprofit Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and the National Park Service.

Enjoying a show at Wolf Trap under the stars with friends is such a quintessential summer experience and we wanted to allow our patrons to start planning even earlier this year," said Arvind Manocha, president and CEO of Wolf Trap Foundation. Tickets for all announced performances go on sale to the public on Saturday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. Opening day specials include $10 lawn and $20 rear orchestra seats for select performances by the National Symphony Orchestra, as well as The Washington Ballet, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo and more.

Young at Arts, Wolf Trap's accessibility initiative which offers free youth tickets to select performing arts events, will continue in 2018. A roster of eligible performances will be announced on February 27, 2018.

Additional performances at the Filene Center will be announced March 8, 2018, and all performances at Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods will be announced April 3, 2018.

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, produces and presents a full range of performance and education programs in the Greater Washington area, as well as nationally.
