Counting Crows

The GRAMMY-nominated Counting Crows gear up for a night of Crow classics and signature covers as a part of their Outlaw Roadshow tour. Only their second performance at Wolf Trap since their 2010 debut, the Crows will be performing songs from their recently released album, Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did on Our Summer Vacation). The album features a collection of 15 interpretive covers, including Bob Dylan’s “You Ain’t Going Nowhere” and Coby Brown’s “Hospital.” The band’s career took off in the early 1990s after they performed in lieu of Van Morrison at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their debut album, August and Everything After, featured the single “Mr. Jones,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts. In 2005 “Accidentally in Love”, featured on the Shrek 2 soundtrack, was nominated for a GRAMMY, Golden Globe, and Academy Award.

Diana Krall

Canadian-born jazz vocalist/pianist Diana Krall returns to Wolf Trap as a part of her Summer Nights tour. With three GRAMMY awards and nine No. 1 Billboard Jazz chart debuts, Krall continues to reinvigorate the Jazz scene with her distinctive alto vocals and contemporary-pop sound. Her most notable album, 1999’s When I Look in Your Eyes, became the first jazz album in 25 years to be nominated for a GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. Although Album of the Year honors eluded Krall, the record earned a GRAMMY for Best Jazz Vocal Performance. The multiplatinum artist began performing at an early age, learning the piano by age four and becoming a professional jazz singer by 15. Krall keeps her sound fresh and new by exploring new horizons, such as the bossa nova elements on her latest release Quiet Nights.

Denzal Sinclaire

Accompanying Diana Krall is another soulful jazz vocalist in Denzal Sinclaire. Hailing from Canada, Sinclaire won the National Jazz Award for Best Album in 2004 and was inducted into the British Columbia Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2005. He has received much praise from some of the biggest names in American music, such as Bette Midler, Michael Bublé, and Dianne Reeves. Combining his unique style, versatile performance and smooth vocals, Sinclaire is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
