On October 20, the leader of unclassifiable Nordic act Wardruna, which boasts a cult following of fans from all walks of life, will release a new solo EP. Einar Selvik, a truly innovative and tireless musician and Norse history expert, will release Snake Pit Poetry, a two-track, ten-minute EP containing an acoustic version as well as the complete studio version of his much-requested piece "Snake Pit Poetry," written for History Channel's beloved TV show Vikings. The song features the extraordinary talent of Icelandic singer Hilda Örvarsdottir, who is featured as a soloist on film scores such as Man of Steel (Hans Zimmer), The Eagle, Babylon AD, Mortal Instruments, Colette (Atli Örvarsson) and 300: Rise of an Empire (Junkie XL). Snake Pit Poetry will also be available as a 10-inch vinyl with an etched B-side in Wardruna's online stores and along the upcoming European tour.
Speaking of touring, big news: after the release of Snake Pit Poetry, Selvik and the rest of
