Ward Thomas, the UK-based twin sister duo - comprised of Lizzy and Catherine Ward Thomas - are set to release their sophomore album Cartwheels on September 2nd via a joint venture between WTW Music and Sony Music UK.

The sisters just released their new music video for "Guilty Flowers"off the upcoming album, which you can watch here: vevo.ly/wpXIa5.

"Guilty Flowers" is the follow-up single to "Carry You Home," which peaked at #18 in the UK airplay chart, and amassed over 500k streams worldwide and sees Cartwheels the album trending at #1 on the iTunes UK pre-order chart. The duo is quickly gaining attention in the US for their unique blend of country, pop and rock. Pre-order Cartwheels here: apple.co/2bKhrRi.

Cartwheels the album was written over the last two years at sessions in Nashville and London during the campaign for 2014's From Where We Stand, the duo's unexpectedly successful debut album, written for fun while they were at school and released as an experiment on their own label. After a debut EP caught the ears of some of country music's biggest stars, among them 20-time Grammy Award winner Vince Gill, From Where We Stand was completed and recorded in Nashville, but remained distinctively British. It went on to sell 25,000 copies in the UK.

The new album was recorded in London and produced largely by Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, Shawn Mendes, Mike Posner), and partly by Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini, Sia). The album's title track was the first song to be written for the new album and turned into the start of something undeniable.

"It established our new sound," says Lizzy. "Lyrically, it was much more grown-up than anything on our debut. Sonically, it was a move away from country to lots of other influences we grew up with - Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, KT Tunstall, some Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift's Red album. We're still influenced by country, but this isn't just a country album."

The biggest change, however, was that the teenagers became adults. Along with their co-writers, they were four young women, sitting in a room, pouring their hearts out. They didn't think in terms of genre, but of stories, emotions and coping mechanisms. They wrote about situations they had either experienced themselves or seen their friends go through. In extraordinary couplets they captured everything from deep friendship to deep despair, from loneliness and heartbreak to the joy of moving on, from feeling like a failure to the pleasure of heading to the hills to de-stress.
