Wachowski Siblings, UNKLE, Derrick May & More to Participate in 'Generate' App Launch

Generate is a new app capturing the imagination of thousands of users around the world with amazing, real-time, audio-visual manipulation. Generate lets you playfully transform images into abstract visual wonders and instantly share them with friends. In just a few months, the app has reached almost 100,000 downloads and users, after a public beta release for artists and creatives.

Generate's ability to engage audiences and heighten performance technology will be on display during the shooting of the Wachowski siblings latest sci-fi epic. On August 16, the Playground at KOKO will transform one of London's premier live music venues into a reality club scene. Join the party as projection of the audience's Generate videos will be set to the rhythm of seminal artists, Derrick May, A Guy Called Gerald, UNKLE, Barem, Richard Fearless and FKJ.

This event is set to capture an evolution in audience interaction and live performance visuals. Using the occasion to represent the future of concert interactions, Generate visuals will fittingly be paired alongside some of the most innovative minds in electronic music. When offered the opportunity to go live with the Pro Version for the first time at Koko, the Generate team decided to hold out on the official launch to coincide with such a perfect collaboration.

With an extensive history working at the convergence of art, music and technology, the team behind Generate realized the app with visual artists in mind. Since its launch Generate has been used by interdisciplinary visual artists and musicians such as Paul Wong, Kris Krug, Grandtheft, and Ryan Enn Hughes, and plans are underway for projects with Tokimonsta, Decibel Festival and a number of other artists and organizations. The app was recently shown at the 2014 SIGGRAPH festival exhibition, Blurred Lines.

Generate Pro is a high performance tool that can be used to capture high-resolution video and images, apply unique aesthetics already used by professional artists and output full-scale video projection. With Generate and Generate Pro, the possibilities for image making just got really interesting.
