WFUV to Broadcast AN IRISH CHRISTMAS on 12/16 & 12/22

The Irish Arts Center and WFUV (90.7 FM and www.wfuv.org) are joining forces to present the debut radio broadcasts of the critically-acclaimed holiday concert, An Irish Christmas, on Sunday, December 16th at 4 pm, immediately following WFUV's popular Irish music program Ceol na nGael, and on Saturday, December 22nd at 10 am, during the more traditional Celtic music program A Thousand Welcomes.

An Irish Christmas, featuring a cast of America's top Irish and world musicians led by Mick Moloney, is a celebratory journey of music, dance, and storytelling. The broadcast will be recorded during a the special performance in support of the Irish Arts Center's capital campaign at the Leonard Theatre on Fordham's Rose Hill campus on December 9th.

Support for both the benefit concert and broadcast came from McVicker & Higginbotham.

WFUV (90.7 FM, www.wfuv.org) is a noncommercial, member-supported radio station, licensed to Fordham University for 65 years. WFUV has received national recognition for its award-winning weekday "Rock and Roots" format, news from NPR and its own news department, and a diverse weekend lineup, which includes the popular long-running Celtic programs Mile Failte, A Thousand Welcomes, The Thistle & Shamrock, and Ceol na nGael. WFUV's robust website has extensive audio archives, videos, song playlists, an events calendar, blog and other resources.
