After numerous teases, Taylor Swift finally dropped the music video for 'Ready For It' and it's quite intense and different to say the least. Swift worked alongside Joseph Kahn for the 'mini film.' They previously collaborated on the "Bad Blood," "Look What You Made Me Do," "Wildest Dreams" and "Blank Space" videos. This is the second video to come from "Reputation" out November 10.
Kahn is widely known for his work with Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Maroon 5 and Britney Spears to name a few.
Swift first teased the unique music video via Instagram on Monday, October 23. Kahn later tweeted the same footage but with a tribute to anime: "some obvious, some not so obvious."
The clip is very much rumored to be influenced on sci-fi thrillers such as the most recent Blade Runner 2049 and Ghost in the Shell. The star stands on a platform that reads, "They're burning all the witches. It's in that moment, she strikes a pose, as if she's secured on a cross then beams lightening.
After the singer/songwriter shared three stills from the 'short film,' the director reposted one of them and added, "Such a pleasure to collaborate with a both powerful creative artist and fantastic human being."
As usual, Swift's music video has secret messages hidden throughout the clip. One of them were actually multiple references to her current boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
This music video makes the anticipation grow for "Reputation."
