Sammy Cahn, the legendary lyricist, called Joey a "singer's singer" and wrote a collection of songs just for her. Joey appeared in classic TV programs such as "The Dinah Shore Show," The Merv Griffin Show" and "The Mike Douglas Show" and had a summer replacement show for the Smothers Brothers. She also plays the French horn, most of the brass instruments, violin and piano. She has sung for stars such as George Burns, Bob Hope and Milton Berle. Features Doug McDonald on guitar and Barney McClure, piano w/ AlLen Goodman, drums, Larry Holloway, bass & Don Shelton, woodwinds.

Guest Emma Reinhart/October 13
This is the season when we showcase even more of our talented student musicians. Today Emma Reinhart, winner of last year's Open Call Helen Turner Grand Prize Award, and the Audience Favorite Award, sits in on saxophone with the band. Emma's winning performance was of "Carnival of Venice". A graduate of Palm Desert HS, she is attending the Thornton School of Music at USC this year. Guest Eric van Aro/October 20
Multi-lingual, multi-national all the way from Switzerland, Eric previews his new jazz CD ""Obsession." "His vocals are immediately notable for the manner in which they find the inner heart of every song he chooses to sing. A born musical story teller with abundant interpretive skills. It's a welcome pleasure to hear Eric van Aro in action. . . his expressive story-telling is enhanced by a propulsive sense of rhythmic swing and intuitive gift for melodic phrasing." Don Heckman Featured on piano is Josh Nelson, with AlLen Goodman, drums, Larry Holloway, bass, Don Shelton on woodwinds and Stan Watkins on trumpet.
