VIDEO: Triple Threat Jared Grimes Shares Music Video for New Single 'Hang Awhile'

Triple Threat Jared Grimes premieres his 4th single and music video, 'Hang Awhile', and it is sure to get your foot tapping! In the Broadway World known more for his virtuosic tap dancing skills, Jared Grimes, has slowly but surely let audiences know why Sammy Davis Jr. and Fred Astaire are his idols. With his energetic pop jazz sound and catchy lyrics, Grimes, has proven that he can entertain with more than just his tap shoes. His new song and music video, 'Hang Awhile', excitingly pays homage to past tap legends while providing a new flare reminiscent of artist such as Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown. Jared started writing and composing music with his band, The Jared Grimes Feel, 4 years ago after an in depth conversation with colleague, Wynton Marsalis, about getting newer generations back to jazz music and the art of tap dance, two art forms currently fighting to stay relevant. He explained to Wynton that he wanted to Sammy Davis Astaire the industry by singing and choreographing over a live jazz sound similar to the way young audiences dance to pop and hip hop music. Jared says, "It's all about that pocket. Once you find that specific place no matter what your singing or dancing to, you've got someone's attention". Hang Awhile is the 4th single Grimes and his band have released and he ensures that there are more to come.

Currently, Jared, is choreographing the musical Holler If You Hear Me with Kenny Leon, and after he is choreographing 42nd street at Drury Lane Chicago with Michael Heitzman, and then after that, he will be choreographing The Scottsboro Boys with Joe Calarco at the Signature Theater in DC. Although choreographing musicals keeps him busy, Grimes, plans to develop a musical supported by his music and the idea of giving tap, jazz and pop music a fresh new take!
