Mayday Parade is taking us back in time with the video for their latest single, "Sunnyland." An acoustic guitar-driven ballad, the track is exceptionally reminiscent of the signature pop punk sound from the band's debut album back in 2007? but make no mistake, it's no carbon copy. With a modern twist, "Sunnyland" sets the tone for the band's entire new sound.
The accompanying video features frontman Derek Sanders in a serene field with just his guitar, contrasted with flashes of the girl he is presumably singing about. Filled to the brim with nostalgia and raw emotion, it's beautiful in its utter simplicity.
"Sunnyland" comes off of the band's sixth studio album of the same name, and joins previous singles, "Piece of My Heart" and "Never Sure."
