VIDEO: Daveed Diggs Talks HAMILTON; Performs with His Band Clipping on CORDEN

On last night's LATE LATE SHOW, James welcomed Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs, who chatted about his role in Broadway's HAMILTON and explained how he came to form the band Clipping.
The actor admits that when HAMILTON creator Lin-Manuel Miranda first approached him about the show based on the life of Alexander Hamilton, he told him it was a "terrible idea." Says Diggs, "Lin's my homey, I've known him a long time, and I'm not gonna let my friend make an ass of himself!" After hearing the music of course, the talented singer was on board with the project.
Later in the show, Diggs' band Clipping performed "A Better Place." Watch the videos below!
Diggs won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for his dual role as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in HAMILTON. The role marked his Broadway debut.
Diggs' national tour credits include Word Becomes Flesh. Regional: In the Red and Brown Water, Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, The Tempest, Troilus and Cressida, Mirrors in Every Corner. Albums include CLPPNG (Sub Pop Records) and Midcity with Clipping. Small Things to a Giant. He will soon be seen in a recurring guest role in the upcoming season of ABC's Black-Ish.
