Brandi Carlile will make her debut on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" today performing her breakout single, "The Joke." watch!
Of the performance, Carlile comments, "I was so unprepared for how finally meeting Ellen after all these years would impact me personally. I can't even imagine where I'd be today as an artist, a mother and a wife without Ellen DeGeneres and what she did for all of us in 1997. It was a complete thrill to be on her show and sing 'The Joke' of all songs. But to introduce her to the family that she has paved the way for me to have was a profound honor."
The performance comes in the midst of a landmark year for Carlile, whose new album, By The Way, I Forgive You, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart, Rock Albums chart and Americana/Folk Albums chart and No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart-a career high for the acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer. Additionally, Carlile is nominated for three Americana Music Association Awards & Honors this year: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year ("The Joke") and Album of the Year (By The Way, I Forgive You).
In celebration of the album, Carlile will tour extensively throughout 2018 with stops at Atlanta's Chastain Park Amphitheatre, Chicago's Chicago Theatre, Denver's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Los Angeles' The Greek Theatre and Seattle's Moore Theatre among many others. In addition to the headline dates, Carlile will also make several festival appearances including Taste of Chicago Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival and Austin City Limits.
