AM & Shawn Lee released their sophomore album, La Musique Numérique, last month via Park The Van Records to praise from USA Today, SPIN, Rolling Stone, Billboard, FILTER, WNYC and more. A sun-filled, space-funk masterwork that blends early digital technology with decade-blurring songwriting, the album is currently available via iTunes, PTV Online, record stores, and other digital retailers. In support of the release, AM & Shawn Lee will hit the road for their Sounds of Summer Tour, which kicks off tomorrow night in Portland!
Album track "Good Blood" is an upbeat, instantly-memorable tune with a danceable beat and funky bass line. The band recently shared the "Good Blood" MP3, and now they've unleashed an animated video for the track that features plenty of dancing-and the duo even make a cameo! Check it out below!
La Musique Numérique blends elements of funk, soul and disco, with tracks like "Two Times," which celebrates the Casio MT-40 keyboard, and the irresistible "Automatic", punctuated by a danceable beat, funky filtered bass lines, and an electric sitar intro that will have you immediately hooked. The album closes with an otherworldly cover of Joe Jackson's 1982 hit "Steppin' Out"-- a version that sees the new wave classic taken deeper into the cosmos.
To get fans hyped for the US tour, AM & Shawn Lee have shared a FREE tour EP, available for download HERE. Be sure to catch AM & Shawn Lee live in your city, as they take a disco-infused dance party on the road!
