UPDATE: 10:20 am/ET: Meat Loaf's rep has shared that the singer is now listed in stable and in good condition.

In a statement to USA TODAY, publicist Jeremy Westby said that Meat Loaf was suffering from severe dehydration when he collapsed near the end of his show at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium. "He was admitted to a nearby hospital to undergo routine tests. His vital signs are stable and normal. He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone's support and well-wishes and is expecting to make a speedy and full recovery."

The New York Post reports that rock legend Meat Loaf collapsed on stage during a concert last night in Edmonton, Alberta. The singer was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition and cause of the collapse are currently unknown. Meat Loaf's agent and music manager have declined to comment. Recently, the 68-year-old was forced to cancel concerts in Canada due to health issues.

Meat Loaf collapsed during a performance of his hit song "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" Those in attendance were asked to exit the arena. A concertgoer captured the moment on video:


Concertgoer Mikey McBryan shared that the singer appeared to be having difficulties even before he fell to the stage. "It was him forgetting words, he wasn't on cue, but it was forgiveable," he said. "We're all loving it and going crazy, and then it just took a turn for the worst."

Meat Loaf is noted for theBat Out of Hell trilogy of albums, consisting of Bat Out of Hell, Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, and Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose. Bat Out of Hell has sold more than 43 million copies worldwide. Almost 40 years after its release, it still sells an estimated 200,000 copies annually, and stayed on the charts for over nine years, making it one of the best selling albums of all time. He is also known for his powerful wide-ranging operatic voice and theatrical live performances.
