Tycho / Scott Hansen said, "I've always been inspired by video games and the alternate reality they offer, this is something I try to achieve in my music: to transport the listener to another space. I'm excited to connect my music with an art form that I enjoy so much."

Recently, Astralwerks Records announced their groundbreaking partnership with Ninja, the world's biggest gamer. In a first for the music and gaming worlds, Astralwerks and Tyler "Ninja" Blevins have joined forces on a revolutionary new project, Ninjawerks - an original soundtrack featuring music from top electronic artists around the globe.

Set for release on December 14, Ninjawerks Volume 1 will be available in digital, CD and vinyl formats. Kaskade and Nero are among the other acclaimed electronic artists who are contributing original songs to the soundtrack. Look for more songs and artists to be revealed soon. A wide range of additional merchandise, Ninjawerksaccessories and original artwork will be rolled out over the coming weeks.

Ninja will celebrate the release of the album's first three tracks at the official Ninjawerks launch party, which will be held on Sunday, December 2, at Capitol Records in Hollywood. He will stream live from the event accompanied by DJ sets from several of the artists on Volume 1.

As Tycho, Scott Hansen blends swirling melodies into vaguely triumphant arcs that crisscross between stuttering beats and vocal samples, creating rolling sonic landscapes that extend into the horizon. Hansen began releasing music over 10 years ago with The Science of Patterns EP. His first full-length, Sunrise Projector, came out in 2004, and the critical acclaim continued in 2006 with the release of Past Is Prologue. In 2011, his meticulous process saw the release of Dive, the first record in a trilogy that was followed by Awake in 2014 and, most recently, Epoch in 2016. Epoch leverages the sonic aesthetic of Dive's down-tempo vintage-style synthesizers and beautiful melodies while drawing on the kinetic energy of Awake's progressive composition and organic instrumentation. The album made an extraordinary chart debut following its surprise release last September, entering Billboard's "Top Dance/Electronic Albums" at #1 and earning Tycho its first ever GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best Dance/Electronic Album." Over the course of the last decade, Hansen has developed from a delicate solo performer into the iconic frontman of a powerful four-piece live band that brings his compositions to life. Tycho has evolved from a singular to a plural, and from an electronic, ambient experiment to a live audio-visual experience that fans travel the world over to see.

Established in New York City and now finding its new home in the historic Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles, Astralwerks was the brainchild of staffers at Caroline Records who saw an opportunity for a label focused on the emerging electronic and ambient scene. Having reached a milestone of 25 years, Astralwerkshas quickly become a modern, artist-first label with a true focus on nurturing talent across the electronic genre and beyond. Acting with a scalable, independent and global thinking mentality with the capability to tap into the resources of a major label, has allowed Astralwerks to retain and sign up-and-coming artists such as ILLENIUM, Jonas Blue, Alison Wonderland, EDEN, Sigma and Axwell / Ingrosso. As a testament to this pioneering approach, Astralwerks has amassed 30 GRAMMY® nominations, taken home six GRAMMY Awards and had historic releases from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Swedish House Mafia, Halsey, Porter Robinson, Phoenix, Eric Prydz, Fatboy Slim and many more.
